What are WineSpy Special Agents?

WineSpy Special Agents is our way of identifying some of our most devoted and influential members. WineSpy Special Agents are trendsetters who love to share their viewpoints on things that make them tick; from wines and wineries to nightlife and restaurants, and everything in between. When Special Agents file their reports, they distinguish themselves with witty intelligence over crass one-liners. Their reviews are a clever mix of comedy, helpful information, personal participation and savvy secrets. WineSpy Special Agents accept accountability for their words and realize the importance of writing fairly.
 

How Do I Become a Member of the WineSpy Special Agent Task Force?

Are you the kind of person who defines trends rather than follows them? Are you hip to the newest wineries, wine bars and restaurants? Do your friends always turn to you for recommendations on where to sip, shop or eat? Do you love sharing what’s great and not so great in your local wine scene? If you answered YES to any of these questions, then you just may have what it takes to be a member of the WineSpy Special Agent Task Force!

For those looking to get on the inside track, here are some of the qualities we look for when promoting a spy to Special Agent status:
 

• Candidates always submit lots of reviews of great local businesses and services, but, more importantly, spies who successfully earn their Special Agent badges are known for reports that are intelligent, cheeky and personal (aka helpful, funny and cool)!
 

• Profiles that rock! HQ is looking for people who have dynamic personalities. WineSpy is not just another static Wine Country website, it's a vibrant online community, and the more people can identify with you, the more your reviews and viewpoints matter to others.
 

• Three words: pictures, pictures, pictures! To be a Special Agent, you have to put a real photo of yourself on your profile! What makes WineSpy so great is that it's made up of real people like you writing cool reviews, and by having your photo published, the more weight your words will carry!
 

• Special Agents use their real name! We know code names and secret identities are wicked fun, but if you want to be a part of the WineSpy Special Agent Task Force, we need to know who you are and know that you will stand by your views.
 

• Even after all this, to be a Special Agent, we look for candidates who display a certain debonair combination of vitality and glamour. In other words — Spy Savvy. It’s not easy to put your finger on what that is, but we know it when we see it.
